In Meghalaya, 1525 kg of explosives, 6000 detonators recovered, six persons arrested

Intelligence agencies have alerted the Government of India in this regard. The agencies alerted the government, saying the major insurgent groups, especially the people of Assam, Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram, maintain regular contact with Chinese intelligence agencies and have benefited from Chinese generosity and weapons.

 All the North Eastern State Security Forces have been alerted after receiving the intelligence agency report. The security forces of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal, Nagaland, Tripura had started the search. In the search, six persons were arrested along with a large quantity of explosives and detonators in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. The police gave this information on Friday. He said, the police launched a campaign in 4 kg area on Wednesday night after receiving secret information about explosives in a train. In the meantime, a train with assam registration number was stopped at Kongong in Ladrimbai police outpost area.

 Assistant Inspector General of Police G. Ingrai said that 250 kg of explosives (2,000 gelatin sticks), 1000 detonators were recovered from the car in ten boxes. Two persons were arrested on board. He said, four more persons were apprehended in Khalhariot after receiving information from the arrested persons. About 1275 kg of explosives (10,200 gelatin sticks), 5000 detonators were recovered during the raids. “Altogether 1525 kilograms of explosive material was recovered during the campaign. He said that the case was registered under the Explosives Act and other relevant sections. Further investigation is being made in the matter. Inspector General of Police G.K. Ingarai told the reporter that a case has been registered under the Explosives Act and other related sections, saying an investigation is going on.
