Infighting intensifies in BJP for Chief Minister

GUWAHATI : The internal struggle of the BJP has begun. A quarrel has started with Sarbananda Sonowal and Hemant Vishwa Sharma over the chief minister’s post. It has been five days since the results of the Assam Assembly elections were announced but it is yet to be decided who will be the next Chief Minister of the state. In fact, in this assembly election, the BJP had neither announced sarbananda sonowal’s name as the chief ministerial candidate nor the name of Hemant Biswa Sarma. The Chief Ministers have taken oath in other states where elections were held, but Assam is still waiting for the next Chief Minister. In Assam assembly elections, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power with a landslide victory.

Bjp led by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal won while Himanta Biswa Sarma is also in the race for the CM’s post. {} In Assam, the ongoing meeting on the chief minister’s post at the residence of BJP president JP Nadda in Delhi has come to an end. Quoting sources, Himanta Biswa Sarma is leading the race for the next Chief Minister of Assam. Earlier, the BJP’s central leadership over Assam is now in active mode. BJP President JP Nadda called both CM Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma to Delhi today. The two leaders arrived in Delhi today on a chartered plane from Guwahati. First, Himanta Biswa Sarma and BL Santosh reached bjp president JP Nadda’s residence for the meeting. Himanta Biswa left for Sarma after a meeting in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah at JP Nadda’s residence in Delhi. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal arrived after Himanta Biswa Sarma left Nadda’s residence.  A meeting with Nadda’s house CM Sonowal was underway when Himanta Biswa has reached Sarma again. 

It may be recalled that the two leaders were summoned to Delhi by the BJP central leadership on the issue of the next government. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took off for New Delhi by chartered flight at 7:15 am today. The two leaders met BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior leadership at 10.30 am to discuss who will be sworn in as the next CM of Assam. Sources said Hemant Vishwa Sharma has more than 45 MLAs so his next chief minister will be made but the BJP leadership is yet to open its mouth about it.The BJP national observers will visit Guwahati tomorrow and talk to all the MLAs and brief them about the next Chief Minister. Sources said, no one will be able to face him except Hemant Vishwa Sharma in the entire north-eastern state, so the BJP national president has discussed making Hemant Vishwa Sharma the next chief minister. The two were called to Delhi today and held separate meetings with Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and BJP General Secretary BL Santosh. The two then sat together but did not get any suggestions. After an important meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief JP Nadda in Delhi Senior BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that a legislature party may meet in Guwahati tomorrow in this regard. The two left the party chief’s house on Saturday after the meeting.Bjp Legislature Party to meet in Guwahati tomorrow. Hemanta Bishwa Sarma told media persons that answers to all questions will come out of that meeting.
