Karnataka: Central team meets CM, COVID-19 cases reach 26,815 in state

In Karnataka, 1498 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday taking the total cases to 26,815 and 571 patients were discharged from various hospitals yesterday. With this the total number of patients discharges has risen to 11,098. A total of 15,297 active cases are under treatment at various hospitals in the State.  15 more people succumbed to the disease thereby taking the toll to 416.

A team of officials from Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare met the Karnataka Chief Minister B.S.Yediyrappa yesterday holding a detailed discussion on the steps taken by the State government to control the Covid-19. 

The team comprising Aarti Ahuja, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Dr.P.Raveendran, Director, Emergency Medical Response Center met the Chief Minister and other officials  as part of their two day visit to the State and discussed on various issues about containing the Covid-19.

The team gathered information especially tracking contacts and creating database of co-morbidity and vulnerable people across the State. The team today will visit the containment zones in various places in the State.
