Bangaluru: Karnataka has a total of 2,71,876 COVID-19 positive cases and Bengaluru Urban district has contributed the highest number of 1,07,875 positive cases recording the positivity rate of 16.29 per cent. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has increased testing and tracking of COVID cases in the recent days.
Till date, it has conducted 6,62,104 tests in the city and identified 2,52,211 primary and 3,28,962 secondary contacts. In order to arrest the spread of the pandemic, the city corporation has sealed down 38,123 containment zones in which 15,229 are active.
Due to the tightening of containment zones and tests the mortality rate, positive cases and positivity rate has come down. Out of total cases reported till date 34,224 are active, 69,861 are discharged and 1,663 persons have died due to the Coronavirus.
