Maharashtra: Pilot project Vocal healthcare testing begins in Mumbai

Mumbai: In Maharashtra, 8,157 patients were discharged yesterday taking the total recovered patients to 4,88,271.  There are over 1 lakh 71 thousand active cases in the state. 258 people succumbed to the infection yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai civic body is adopting innovative measures to contain the spread of the disease. A pilot project of Vocal healthcare testing has been started in Mumbai.

A pilot project of Vocal Testing for the detection of CoronaVirus infection has begun at Nesco Jumbo Covid Centre in Mumbai. Voice samples of suspected patients are being collected to detect the Covid infection with the help of artificial intelligence.

State Environment Minister, Aaditya Thackeray said  that the use of innovative and advanced technologies will strengthen the fight against the global pandemic and it will help for early detection and treatment of Covid-19 patients. However, he made it clear that ongoing RT-PCR tests will continue as usual in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated  a Covid care centre with an 800-bed facility, including 200 ICU beds, in Pune yesterday. The Centre is developed within 18 days. He appealed to the people of the state to remain extra careful during festivals and rains in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
