In Karnataka, 4537 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported yesterday. Among the new cases 2,121 are from Bengaluru, 509 from Dakshina Kannada, 186 from Dharwad and 176 from Vijayapura districts. A total of 36,631 active cases are under treatment in various hospitals in the State.
A total number of 1098 patients recovered from various hospitals in the State yesterday and the total number of patients recovered so far has increased to 21,775. The recovered rate of the State is 36.50 percent. As many as 93 patients succumbed to the disease and the total deaths climbed up to 1240. 580 patients are in ICU in various hospitals in the State.
Meanwhile the Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr. K.Sudhakar said that the Government has issued a circular for mandatory admission of asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic cases in covid care centers or home isolation. Private hospitals should not admit asymptomatic patients but only critical patients and hand over 50 percent of their beds to the Government for treating COVID patients.
