GUWAHATI: The tussle between political parties over the Manipur Assembly elections continues. This time, the JD(U) has made the election interesting. Once upon a time, the old version of the JD(U) was very strong in Manipur of the Samata Party. It was George Fernandes’ . In 2001, Radhavinod joined the Koijam Samata Party and became the Chief Minister of Manipur. This time, the JD(U) is expecting some similar charisma in Manipur. The JD(U) has made the election interesting here with its presence. JD(U) national president Lallan Singh has claimed that even if we are not able to form the government, the situation will be that without us, no one will form a government in Manipur. The JD(U) has recently added 15 people in Manipur, who have been MLAs of the BJP and the Congress in the past, to the war.

There are also many outgoing MLAs who have joined the JD(U) due to not getting tickets. In such a situation, the JD(U) says that we are with strength. So far, jd(u) has fielded its candidates in 37 out of 60 assembly constituencies. JD(U) national president Lallan Singh has so far made manipur three times. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, however, has alleged that militant groups are openly campaigning for the ruling BJP. The National People’s Party (NPP) alleged that several banned militant groups are openly campaigning for the ruling BJP in Manipur. Manipur government’s ally NPP has demanded adequate security to its candidates in the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The party has also urged the authorities to push all the militants from that state back to their camps and seize all arms from them for free and fair elections. Manipur government’s ally NPP has demanded adequate security to its candidates in the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The party has also urged the authorities to push all the militants from that state back to their camps and seize all arms from them for free and fair elections. According to the Meghalaya chief minister, who is contesting 42 of Manipur’s 60 seats, militants’ activists are roaming around with arms and threatening voters and village pradhans to vote for BJP candidates. Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh is confident of bjp’s victory in the state.

The party in-charge of the state is consistently claiming victory. He trusts in the charismatic personality of Prime Minister Narendra Modi more than himself and the disintegration of the main rival Congress. But not only the Congress alliance but other state allies are also in the fray against the BJP in the state. They will also beat the BJP.. It also has BJP’s ally JD(U) in Bihar and NPP, an ally in Meghalaya. A JD(U) general secretary has said that his party will extend its support to the party which is most likely to form the government. Let me tell you that this is not going to happen for the first time in the state. Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) and Conrad Sangma’s NPP are likely to play the role of kingmakers in the run-up to manipur elections in case of a hung assembly. Meanwhile, Congress in-charge of Manipur Jairam Ramesh said that his party’s only aim for the time being is to get an absolute majority on its own strength so that no one has to look after the results.

On the other hand, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sushil Chandra said that for the first time in the country, a total of 487 polling stations in five assembly constituencies in Manipur will be managed exclusively by women officers. This is the first time in any state that entire assembly constituencies will be managed entirely by women election officers.A delegation of the Election Commission of India (ECI) led by CEC Sushil Chandra arrived here on Monday on a two-day visit to the state to review the status of poll preparedness for the upcoming 12th general elections to the Manipur Assembly. The constituencies that will be managed exclusively by women polling officers are Singjamei, Thoubal, Yaskul, Wangkhei and Churachandpur. Manipur’s 60-member assembly will go to polls in two phases on February 27 and March 3. Counting of votes will take place on March 10.
