GUWAHATI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the Nagaland state government were insensitive in 2015 over the solution to the political problem of Nagaland to inspire the Nagaland Assembly elections. This was seen from the political gains of the BJP. But now that seven years have passed since the signing of the landmark framework agreement with the Centre, the Centre has reportedly kept mum on the Nagaland problem. In protest, the NSCN (IM) militant group has now re-activated in the demand of Nagalim. It also affected arunachal pradesh, manipur, assam and the naga dominated areas of the entire north-east. On the other hand, all the mlAs of the state have unanimously passed resolutions in the House demanding a solution to the political problem of Nagaland before the 2023 assembly elections. For the last 24 years, the ongoing peace process for a permanent solution to the Naga problem still does not seem to be reaching any conclusion. The framework agreement, which was being held on the back seven years ago as historic, has also not been able to open the way for a solution to the problem. Sometimes the demand for a separate flag and sometimes a separate constitution has constantly stalled the way of this peace process. The NSCN (IM) celebrated the 43rd foundation day and its president Q Tuku said the NSCN (IM) is totally against the economic package or the political package imposed. He said that these are far from giving a permanent solution to the Nagas. Explaining the political significance of the framework agreement signed on August 3, 2015, Tuku said that the Government of India and the NSCN(IM) had entered into an agreement to establish a new relationship for peaceful co-existence of the two entities on the basis of shared sovereignty.”This is the only key to a dignified and acceptable solution to lasting peace. We put on record to reiterate our stand that the Naga frameworks will abide by the principles of the agreement. There is no other way out and we will stand firmly with the framework agreement. Tukku said what happened in Otting in Nagaland’s Mon district, where 13 Konyak Naga villagers were killed by 21 Para Special Force on December 4 last year and another civilian in firing by Assam Rifles in the history of Naga political struggle in Som the next day is one of the most painful incidents. We are with the Otting and Konyak people and together we will fight for justice. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the Nagaland state government are insensitive to the solution of the political problem of Nagaland to inspire assembly elections. This was seen from the political gains of the Modi and Shah-led BJP.
