New air services to increase tourism and investment in state: CM Shri Chouhan

Bhopal :  Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that starting of additional air service from Bhopal to New Delhi will help in developing tourism and bringing new investment in the state. New international flights from Bhopal and Indore will prove beneficial to the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a video conference at CM House during the launch of Indigo flight by the Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia this evening. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan had requested for starting this flight. Union Minister of State for Steel Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste was present in the programme along with Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. MP Sushri Pragya Thakur also attended the programme through video conference.

Will realize the mantra of Atmanirbhar Bharat

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that citizens of Bhopal had been since long demanding increased air connectivity from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi. The benefit of this facility will not be only for the movement of passengers. It will also facilitate setting up of industries, inviting new investments, increasing business and trade and tourism of Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Shri Modi has given the mantra of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Following the path laid down by Prime Minister Shri Modi, the Madhya Pradesh government had decided last year that there would be four major dimensions for Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. It also has an infrastructure besides it also includes promoting all forms of transport. This will benefit the tourism sector and create employment opportunities.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we are making constant efforts to increase economic activities in Bhopal. All types of business should be increased in Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur also. The Vindhya region has immense potential. If we enrich Sidhi, Singrauli or Sagar of Bundelkhand region from the point of view of connectivity, then investment will definitely get a boost here too. Kanha of Jabalpur division and Bandhavgarh National Park of Shahdol division are tiger reserves. Katni, Satna and Singrauli are the industrial areas. Flights have been started from Jabalpur, it being a culture hub, to facilitate tourists and also help in increasing business. Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh. It is very important to start international flights here. International flights should also start from Indore. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that if Bhopal gets the international level status, then surely the entire state will get the benefit of international connectivity.

Union Ministers Shri Scindia and Shri V.K. Singh thanked

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has also expressed gratitude to Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Civil Aviation Shri V.K. Singh. Shri Chouhan said that there are many national parks, world heritage monuments, spiritual and tourist places in Madhya Pradesh. Indore is the commercial capital of the state. The entire state will be benefited by increasing air services. The central government deserves thanks for the gift that Madhya Pradesh has received today.

Economy of Khajuraho affected

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the economy of the international tourist destination Khajuraho was affected during the Corona period. The number of tourists decreased due to suspension of air services. All flights to Khajuraho should be resumed so that the local businessmen do not have to suffer financial loss. Madhya Pradesh will get benefit under the UDAN scheme. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that rural homestays are operating in small places like Dhamna near Khajuraho. Foreign tourists come and stay here, and purchase products made by the clay craftsmen here.

60 percent hike in air craft movements in Madhya Pradesh

 Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said that today is an important day for Madhya Pradesh. The city of lakes has a name in the world. The amalgamation of history and future is apparent in Bhopal. Shri Scindia said that civil aviation facilities have increased in the last four months. Around 554 aircraft movements have now increased to 870 before the month of July. This increase is 60 percent. Earlier 27 cities were connected by air services, and now the number is 49 including 22 cities of Madhya Pradesh. This increase is 82 percent. Today new services have also been started from Indore to Prayagraj, Surat and Jodhpur. Madhya Pradesh has been connected with four states in one day. The work of laying the network of air traffic will continue. Efforts will be made to connect cities with air services within Madhya Pradesh also. Small aircrafts will also be operated, which will connect the places related to wildlife of the state.
