New Delhi: Opposition today criticised the President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of the Parliament. Talking to media outside parliament, Congress MP Tariq Anwar said the address ignored the real issues including poverty, inflation, and unemployment and it focussed only to highlight the government’s achievements. Another Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said the address had nothing new and there was no mention of the alleged irregularities in NEET. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said the Government talks about being the world’s fifth largest economy, but there is widespread unemployment and farmers are suffering, while only a select few are benefiting. He also questioned the government over implementation of the Agniveer Scheme. TMC MP Mahua Moitra also questioned the address of the President saying it was just a government document.
