PM Modi to visit Assam on Feb 9, over 3 lakh people expected at his event at Guwahati,Assam BJP Sounds Unhappy After Meeting Rahul On CAB

Guwahati : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on February 9th, to start 4 massive projects in the state, worth Rs 9,000 crore. He will initiate the construction work of AIIMS at Changsari by taking part in a ‘Bhumi Pujan.’ At least 3 lakh people are expected to gather in the function. The event is also expected to be the biggest ever public gathering for Narendra Modi, till date. People from Hajo, West Guwahati, East Guwahati, Nalbari, Raha, Jagiroad, Morigaon, Sipajhar, Barkhetri, Kamalpur, Palashbari, Mangoldoi and several other places of Assam are likely to take part in the event. According to sources, these people will reach Changsari on foot, and also by travelling through private vehicles, public buses, and trains. Five different trains have been allotted to bring people to the event. A bike rally will also be taken out on the streets, on the occasion of Modi’s visit, where more than 20,000 people will take part. Narendra Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the 4 lane bridge which will connect Guwahati city with North Guwahati.

The allotted budget of the bridge is Rs 2,187 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Biodiesel Refinery project at Numaligarh Refinery. Along with these, he will also start the project of gas pipeline from Barauni to Guwahati. Meanwhile BJP state President Ranjit Kumar Das on Tuesday has attacked the state delegations for meeting Congress president Rahul Gandhi to garner support against the Citizenship Bill. His comments came after the delegation of the North East Students Organisation (NESO), which is campaigning against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, met AICC president, Rahul Gandhi, in New Delhi on Monday. Criticizing AASU, Das said that “Martyrs families have already returned government honor, now it’s time to return the honor offered by AASU. The activities of AASU have disappointed us.There are 7 organizations with Akhil, not 70 organisations.” “West Bengal CM is ‘coward’. If she has guts, she should mention the name of Assam minister.” “If Tarun Gogoi has guts, he should give FIR against Himanta Biswa.” On Monday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi assured the delegation that the Congress is against the CAB and will vote against it if it is brought in the Rajya Sabha.
