SWACHHATA HI SEVA PROGRAMME 2025

As part of observing the Swachhata Hi Seva (Cleanliness Service) Campaign 2025, Thiruvananthapuram Division organized multiple awareness activities on 19th September 2025, promoting the values of cleanliness, hygiene, and collective responsibility.

A Walkathon was organized from Divisional Railway Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram Pettah. The event was flagged off by Dr. Sobha Jasmine S, Chief Medical Superintendent/TVC, in the presence of railway officials, staff members, and student volunteers. NSS student volunteers from John Cox Memorial CSI Institute of Engineering & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram enthusiastically participated in the rally, highlighting the campaign’s strong message among the general public.

At Thiruvananthapuram North Railway Station, students from Mystical Rose School, Vettukad, joined railway employees in a Unity Formation for Swachhta, a Swachhta Rally, Walkathon and also took part in the Swachhata Pledge. The students contributed further by planting tree saplings in the station premises, adding an eco-friendly dimension to the campaign.

Similar activities including Walkathons and awareness rallies were also conducted across major stations in the Division, notably at Alappuzha and Nagercoil Junction. Guruvayur Railway Station witnessed an awareness Cyclothon by railway staff spreading the message of Swachhotsav.

The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign is being actively observed by Thiruvananthapuram Division from 17th September to 02nd October 2025. During this period, intensive cleanliness drives, public awareness campaigns and special initiatives are being undertaken to improve and sustain cleanliness standards in trains, railway stations, field units and railway premises.
