Swarnim Vijay Varsh Victory Flame reached Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The Victory Flame of Swarnim Vijay Varsh, commemorating the 50th anniversary of India’s victory in 1971 war, reached Kokrajhar on Friday.

Brig Kulvir Singh, Commander Agia Brigade recieved the Victory Flame escorted by bikers at Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School ground.

The flame witnessed an imposing reception ceremony with ceremonial guard of honour, scintillating pipe band display, felicitation of four 1971 war heroes from Kokrajhar district.

Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Barnali Deka, civilian dignitaries, 1971 war veterans, serving Soldiers of Army, SSB & CRPF were present .

The enthralling event echoed a sense of pride among local populace.

The victory flame was lit from eternal flame of the National War Memorial, signifying the valour and  bravery of the Soldiers. Since then, the victory flame is travelling across the length and breadth of India. On its journey in seven sisters, the flame travelled 250 km from Umroi Mil station to  Kokrajhar.
