Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that 20 lakh 65 thousand houses have been completed against the target of 26 lakh 28 thousand, under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) in the state. Over 3 lakh houses have been built in the state, dealing with the challenges even during the Corona period. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has built about one lakh houses in a short period of one month, that too in adverse weather conditions. The average time taken for the construction of a house is generally considered to be around 120 days. With the prompt construction of such a large number of houses by the department, the dream of the poor, who were longing for a pucca house for generations, will soon come true. The department has done remarkable work by constructing more than 3 lakh houses while dealing with the challenges during the Corona period.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in the current financial year, even after most of the districts of the state are affected by floods and excessive rain during the rainy season, maximum one lakh 60 thousand houses have been completed between July 1, 2021 and September 22, 2021. Despite the rainy season, which is not congenial for construction work, with special efforts, continuous state level supervision has done wonders to build one lakh 6 thousand houses in a period of just one month from 15th August to 15th September 2021. shown.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set a target of providing housing to all the homeless families of the country within the next two years i.e by the year 2022. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) has been implemented in Madhya Pradesh to achieve the target of Housing for All 2022. Benefits of Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, MNREGA wages and other schemes are also being given through convergence along with houses. The three backward tribes of Madhya Pradesh, Saharia, Baiga and Bharia have also been provided housing under the special project.
So far, more than 20 lakh 65 thousand rural families of Madhya Pradesh have got their homes under this ambitious scheme. These were all families that did not have houses or lived in dilapidated kutcha houses. Under the scheme, the unit cost of the house to the beneficiary is Rs one lakh 20 thousand in plain districts and Rs one lakh 30 thousand in remote and inaccessible hilly areas in the form of 100 percent grant in installments, based on the progress of the house construction work. The amount gets transferred to the beneficiary’s account automatically, in four installments on uploading photo and Geotag through Awaas app.
