Assam-Meghalaya border dispute resolved

GUWAHATI : The border dispute between the north-eastern states of Assam and Meghalaya, which has been going on for the past 50 years, has now been resolved. On Tuesday, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Meghalaya CM Conrad K. Sangma signed an agreement to resolve the 50-year-old border dispute between their states in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Today, the 50-year-old pending border dispute between Assam and Meghalaya has been resolved. Six of the 12 points of contention have been resolved, covering a limit of about 70%. The remaining 6 points will be resolved at the earliest.
