The three-member team led by Joint Secretary in Health and Family Welfare Ministry Lav Agarwal has instructed Bihar government to enforce guidelines strictly in the containment zones and limit people’s movement in order to contain the spread of the virus.
After visiting containment zones of Patna and Gaya Mr . Agrawal has also asked the state officials to prepare a strategy for tracing and breaking the Covid 19 chain. The central team has advised the state government to continue with house to house screening at regular intervals and rope in more health workers for this work. The team has asked the state to strengthen its medical teams and motivate doctors for treatment of Covid patients. The Joint Secretary has asked the officials to address concerns raised by people on social media regarding Covid-19 in Bihar.
Meanwhile the number of positive cases of Coronavirus infection has mounted to 27 thousand four hundred fifty five with the reporting of 1076 fresh cases. 17 thousand five hundred thirty five patients have recovered and 9,732 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals. 217 patients have so far died due to Corona in the state. The recovery rate in Bihar is 64 percent.
