GUWAHATI : In Assam, a three-day corona vaccination camp organized by fit North East, a health and wellness news portal located in the city, is underway at KK Handik Nagar in Narkasur hills of Guwahati. Several people from different regions have been vaccinated in the camp. Pranti Das, a 25-year-old girl who came for vaccination, seemed very aware of the importance of vaccination to check corona. He said “I was actually planning to get vaccinated.” But since no such camp was held in our area, I was waiting. Now that I got a chance near my house, I took my old mother for vaccination today.”There is no other way but vaccination if we want to protect ourselves from the impending third wave of epidemic,” Dr Das added. If people are vaccinated they will get protection, and even if they are infected with covid, it will not be a serious situation, requiring hospitalization,” he said. He said “mass vaccination is necessary to end the epidemic, besides all covids, including frequent hand washing, wearing masks and maintaining social distance, should follow appropriate behaviour.”
